THE STORY BEHIND THE TAI CHI DAILY LOGO

The Meaning Behind the Logo

Snake Creeps Down – My favorite Tai Chi posture, chosen to represent the martial spirit of Tai Chi and my personal journey.

Rising Sun – A symbol of daily practice at sunrise and sunset, reminding us to slow down, breathe deeply, and be present.

Tai Chi Daily – A reminder that progress comes through consistent practice, one day at a time.

Every logo has a story. This one represents my personal Tai Chi journey.

There have been very few days that I've missed practicing Tai Chi since I began more than 32 years ago, so it was only fitting to call this website Tai Chi Daily. My goal was to create a place that would encourage others to make Tai Chi part of their daily lives as well. I also wanted to give back to this wonderful art that has enhanced my life in so many ways by introducing as many people as possible to the benefits of Tai Chi each day.

At the center of the logo is a silhouette performing Snake Creeps Down, my favorite Tai Chi posture. I still remember the way I felt the day I learned it. To me, it captures the martial spirit of Tai Chi and looks cool. When I perform the posture, I imagine myself as a snake quietly slithering toward its target. Over the years, it has remained my favorite movement, making it the perfect symbol for Tai Chi Daily.

Surrounding the silhouette is the rising sun over the horizon. For me, it represents both sunrise and sunset. Sunrise and sunset have long been considered ideal times to practice Tai Chi. They remind us to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with ourselves through mindful movement.

The name Tai Chi Daily reflects a simple philosophy: progress comes through consistency. You don't need to be perfect. You simply need to keep showing up. Even a few minutes of practice each day can help build strength, balance, confidence, and inner calm over time.

Together, the posture, the sun, and the name represent everything that Tai Chi Daily stands for: making Tai Chi a part of everyday life, inspiring others to begin or continue their own journey with a qualified teacher, and encouraging one another along the way.
